Marillac’s positive outcomes reflect the personal recovery experienced by our children and their families.
In 2006, Marillac provided treatment for approximately 800 children. Recent outcomes data at discharge reflects that of the children who received residential treatment at Marillac in 2006 (the most recent year for which statistics are available):
- 97% of clients made progress toward treatment plan goals and objectives
- 92% of families are involved in treatment after discharge
- 89% of clients experienced a reduction in suicidal or self-harming behavior
- 84% indicated an improvement in their academic performance
- 88% experienced a reduction in criminal activity
- 81% indicated an improvement with social interactions within the community
- 89% experienced a reduction in aggression
- 90% experienced a reduction in suspensions from school
- 85% moved to a less restrictive environment upon discharge
- 90% experienced a reduction in property destruction
- 83% experienced a reduction in running away behavior
