Philosophy

A therapeutic model of care called Sanctuary guides all of our clinical decisions. The Sanctuary Model is a trauma-informed, brain-smart approach for assisting traumatized, injured youth to recuperate, recover, and reclaim their lives.

Throughout all of our programs, we base decisions on the acronym of SELF. We believe that we must address all issues of Safety, Emotional management, Loss, and Future which allow children to change. Within this environment, children can learn about trauma and its impact on them, recognize their need to change, and begin to experience the hope and joy of transforming their lives, thus minimizing the effects of earlier trauma.
