Our Programs and Services

Marillac is a psychiatric treatment center for children through age 17.  We offer residential treatment, psychiatric hospitalization, and therapeutic education to children with special emotional and behavioral needs. Our programs are based on a philosophy of care that recognizes our children's trauma and works to help them resolve these issues so they may return to the community as contributing members.

The only psychiatric hospital for children in Johnson County, KS, Marillac provides crisis resolution and stabilization services twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. Marillac offers several hospital-based treatment programs to best meet the needs of children through age 17 and their families.

Marillac's PRTF is a nationally-accredited treatment program for children ages 6-17.  Treatment is provided in our secure facility, under the direction of our full-time board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist with the support of 24-hour nursing care.  Marillac develops an individualized treatment plan for each child, which may include individual, family, group, art, music, recreation, occupational, speech, and substance abuse therapies.

Marillac's Substance Abuse Treatment Program provides services for young people who are physically or psychologically dependent on drugs or alcohol.  Marillac helps these children identify new, healthy coping skills and exercise self-control.  Both individual and group therapy services are offered.

Marillac’s Therapeutic Day School offers a highly structured, individualized therapeutic education program for students first through eighth grade in a small class setting.  Staff are highly qualified and licensed in their areas of expertise.  Marillac’s school coordinates services with school districts, families and community mental health providers to promote a successful reintegration to the public school setting.
