Hospital Continuum of Care

Marillac’s hospital has multiple levels of care to meet the evolving needs of the children and adolescents we serve. Hospital clients may transition between these levels of care as their treatment progresses.

Hospital clients complete their academic work from their community school (as supplied by parents or caregivers) during an education program led by a certified teacher. This program assists in our clients’ successful return to school upon completion of their treatment.

Acute Care

This program is for the client in need of emergency admission to stabilize an unsafe situation. Comprehensive assessments and intensive treatment services help the client and family return to safety and begin the change process.

Sub-acute Care

This program is for the client in need of urgent admission due to high-risk behaviors that cannot be effectively treated in a community-based setting. Clients may be directly admitted in to the sub-acute program or may step down from acute care.

Partial Hospital (Daylight Program)

This program is for the client who presents with mental health and/or substance abuse symptoms that cannot be effectively treated in a office-based setting but don’t require inpatient care. Clients in the partial hospital program spend about 8 hours per day engaged in therapeutic activities in the hospital and then return to their homes each evening. Clients may be directly admitted into the partial hospitalization program or may step down from acute or sub-acute care.
